Ordering

We are happy to conduct consultations through email, on the phone or in person. The more detail you can give on the contact form the better so that we have a good idea of your basic requirements before we get in touch to discuss designs and prices. We generally need at least 2 weeks notice prior to your required delivery date and more elaborate cakes will require considerably longer. Multi-tiered fruit cakes, for instance, are best ordered at least 3 months in advance in order to let the flavours mature and the texture settle to enable easy slicing. However, we will always endeavour to help in an emergency so its worth asking if you need something at short notice.

A deposit is required on all cakes before an order is confirmed, the amount being dependent upon the size and recipe of the cake. Full details will appear on your quote.

Delivery

We are based near Yeovil, Somerset – close to the borders with Dorset and Devon. As our cake designs are fragile we regret that we are unable to send orders in the mail or via courier. Deilvery within 5 miles of the Ice Maiden Cakes kitchen is free of charge. A small mileage charge is made outside of this area and this will be included on your quote. Deliveries can be made throughout Somerset and into parts of Dorset and Devon. We will travel further afield for large orders and you are of course welcome to come and collect your order. We also provide a Set-Up Service at your venue for more elaborate creations.

Pricing

 Our creations here at Ice Maiden Cakes are as unique as our customers so the prices given here are for rough guidance only. Once we have had a consultation to discuss your individual needs you will be provided with a comprehensive written quote.

Prices are a rough guide for simply decorated round or square cakes. Novelty and tiered cakes and cakes with models or sugar flowers are difficult to give a guide price for because of the large variation in the amount of work involved but novelty cakes start at around £60.

Designer cupcakes, cookies and whoopie pies start at around £1.50 each, minimum order quantities apply.

For the purpose of this price guide:

• Sponge cake comes with butter cream and fondant icing and can be flavoured with lemon, almond, coconut or vanilla
• fruit cake comes with marzipan and fondant icing

Other flavour combinations and recipes are available and will be discussed during your consultation.

Portions given here are party portions, the kind of size a caterer would cut if you were having a function (eg a wedding or ball). If your event is on a more domestic scale, a party tea at home for instance, you would probably cut bigger slices.
